new turbo do S2 an S1 turbos differ?

Default new turbo do S2 an S1 turbos differ?

recently bought a turbo in gd nick from here but when it came to fittin it had 2 big bolt thread type holes? ive heard series 2 turbos are watercooled will this not beable to fit onto my series 1?

any advice please

Youre right they are different.
The big bolt holes are for the banjo bolts where the water pipes are connected.

I dont know if it would be advisable to blank these off and run it on an S1 without the cooling?

Perhaps the S1 items are made of stronger stuff to cope with the extra heat? I dont know...

you can fit a turbo watercooled only with oil connected, but his life will be shorten than if it was watercooled ...
With old t3 there is no major prob' but if you try with some turbo like BB's (gt28rs, etc) It will die in few miles ...

But but I can be mistaken… I'm not a mechanic

Will be fine as on my old escort the water pipe split so i just by-passed the water to the turbo.
Never had a problem.

Plenty of people have run them without colling, its easy enough to pippe up though and i myself would do it for piece of mind

get the radiator top hose and the other thin one that runs along the bottom of the rad from a series 2 like said above its no big problem fitting it. any thing to lenghten the life of an old wanked out t3 before she starts smoking.
