Default Registering a RS Turbo/Insurance

ive done a conversion from a 1.6S to a RS Turbo engine in my car, in order for the car to appear as a RS Turbo on the log book what are the procedures or can this not be done?
will dvla need to inspect the car etc, anyone been in the same situation?
Thanks

EDIT:

Also when it comes to insuring the car either though it is registered as a 1.6S on the log book, how do i go about telling the insurance company that ive gt a RS Turbo engine in it, coz they usually ask for a fitters report?

Sorry to hijack, but also what happens when it goes for MOT, as I believe MOT testers are now obliged to report any modifications of a car to the DVLA?

Interested, as this something I want to do as well.

It can't be registered as an RS Turbo as it wasn't sold as one. It can only ever be a 1.6S with and RS Turbo engine

How do you let them know it is an RS Turbo engine? Just by giving them the engine number ?

Yep other wise it becomes a hooky motor and is worth bugger all. It can only ever be what it left the factory as regardless of what you do to it. Sorry fella

From what I remember reading, I think this what was deffinatetly on the cards, espesically now it is all computer based, the MOT tester enters any mods onto the computer presumablly and updates DVLA records.

I do not know the exact details of it / if its in place yet, but it was deffinately being considered.

Have a search on here for "DVLA" or something and you may find a thread which will shed more light on the subject.

But surely if you take a 1.3 5 door escort in for mot say, and its got a 2.1 zetec turbo lump under the bonnet - its a bit obvious! lol, isnt the MOT tester obliged to inform DVLA ?

Default Registering a RS Turbo

I have a S2 RS Turbo Van, told DLVA, the log book just says 1.6 and petrol instead of diesel now. Never had any problems with the new MOTs.

Not really, and to be fair most MOT testers wouldnt know in that much detail what an engine would be just to look at.

I expect there are testers that are really picky just to be cunts, but ive not heard of them being obliged to inform DVLA, that would need a very vast knowledge of all cars!

They won't, it's the dvla they are talking about. One assumes obviously you've made hic aware of your modifications.
