battery keeps goin flat wen i leave it parked up for a day,(brought new battery 1 week ago) got multimeter was kickin out 12.35 wiv engine off, wen its runnin its kickin out 12.80, so i went scrappy got me alternator an it was same, so i put my other 1 bk on, also i hav noticed that wen i turn the ignition 2cd click i aint got no battery light that cums on like it always use 2
any ideas b4 i end up sellin my rs an gettin a subaru (joking)

First things first if the battery light isnt working the alternator wont commence charging.
12.80 isnt a very high charge rate, a GOOD battery should read about 12.6 without the engine running!

turn on the ignition and earth out the small blue wire going to the alt..if light comes on then no probs with loom etc...no light chech bulb and blue wire continuity..
p.s. the correct wat to check an alternator isnt the voltage way..
you need to measure current which unless you have a posh clamp on meter means disconnecting the earth and puting a multimeter in series to measure the amps either charging or discharging..need a good meter though that measures dc current

cleaned my earths, checked the bulb, followed blue wire underneath turbo an starter found it had split, joined it bk up an whooooooooo my battery light came on !! nice 1 lads 4 advice an tips id stil hav this problem if it wasnt 4 ya replys
