Default Question about MSD closed loop?

Basically i'm looking at going closed loop on my stage 1 Saph.

My question is that once the conversion is complete and fitted what happens when I want to up the power and change the spec of the car, but use another tuner?

Ideally I want to go to a bit more of a bespoke spec and am not prepared to travel 5/6 hours to blackpool everytime I want to upgrade, for example MAD is closer for me so suits me better, but how would say an MAD spec set-up work with an MSD closed loop chip?

Can someone explain please?

(Stu if you see this, your input would be good, couldn't get you on the phone today and have had no luck with msn or pm on here )

Cheers

I set up a few cars for MSD as some cant travel that far, I am happy to do it as they are very good.

as long as stu knows the exact engine spec he could spec the chip and send it to you ,then get the fuelling checked elsewhere.

it doesnt matter who works on the car.

for best results ,a live map is the way forward by stu, but i run 55lb injectors etc ,and its all off the shelf from stu

Unless you want it live mapped, Mark could possibly fit and setup a Stu supplied chip. Not sure that Mark maps Cosworths on anything other than Autronic, but you'd have to ask him to be sure.

Stu can supply closed loop chips for several spec's as far as I know, so unless going very big bhp, you could get the chip/injectors off him, and someone local to set it up/install.

Edit: answers all above, I was too slow replying

As stated above really Dan, most people could fita nd check a stage 1 or 2 chip for you if i sent it down by post, but theres only 2 or 3 people in the country i trust with my closed loop greys or blacks conversions as 400bhp and above requires a true expert to check all teh fuelling is fine and teh ignition advance safe (Engine specs are NOT always what you actually think they are...), and as luck would have it, Mark Shead is one of the ones i trust 100%. I send many customers his way with my conversions and always get great feedback from teh customer in return when he has set it all up and checked it out.

With regards phones and PM's, sorry pal, just so snowed under at teh moment i cant always deal with either of them and just have to soldier on. I was at work till 2am this morning and now ive eaten I am going back there to meet Stu@BSC at 9pm to look at an imobiliser fault on a car im supposed to be mapping...

Its all just hectic at the moment and my telephone/enquiry response is sadly having to suffer for us to get through the work we have on now we are one man down. Sorry.

Don't worry mate, spoke to Kenny tonight who I think thought I was abit of a cunt cos I was asking dumb questions! but he did explain a couple of things...

Not going anywhere near 400bhp yet Stu, doubt it will get to that at all tbh, just want more than Stg 1

I'll call again tomoz, all I need from you is the Closed Loop chip now as I have the rest of the parts here, Rich (B9 KOS) is going to fit it all up with me next weekend then I will just get the fuelling checked etc,

I'll ask for you tomoz, speak properly in work hours mate!

500 cooler would be advisable dan as would uprated headgasket,as for boost you could run 27 psi with the 500 cooler

get a 4x4 cooler,an escos cooler or a used 500 cooler off ebay cheaply mate, stg 3 is a cracking conversion! then 3 bar, injectors and a chip, total fitting time,2 hours tops for someone with 2 left hands! unless you get a escos cooler that is cos youll have to get happy with an angle grinder to fit it in the factory place, but still easy enough

Full stage 2 DIY kit is £465 and includes a 3bar, -31, 4x Bosch 803s, a chip and full instructions on how to fit etc.

The closed loop adds £100 to the bill, and a lambda and boss another £80.

You just need to get Mark to do the business with the parts.
