Default My escort cos winter tidy up

After I had returned from the ring in sept 06 my power steering rack failed so over xmas I removed it and replaced it, whilst it was out I took the oppertunity to degrease/ clean the bottom of the engine bay and crossmember, this then led to my to decide to remove the front running gear to get it all powder coated / painted

I painted the hubs by hand as I wanted the minimium thickness on the front of the hub to reduce any wheel wobble so on the back I used hammerite smooth and a spray version of it on the front face, I have access to a sand blaster so prepping them was made easy.

the bottom suspension arms were painted

the hub carriers and anti roll bar were powdercoated

parts painted /prepped

refitting begins

the caliper brackets were powdercoated and the calipers painted by hand in matching paint

I painted the disks in high temp paint after blasting them to reduce the chance of them rusting

the front is nearly finished now, just waitng for the brake pipe brackets to come back from the powdercoaters then the wheels can go back on.
whilst waiting for this tonight I started degreasing the offside floorpan, it is coming up like new!!
will post some pics of it tomoz

next winter I will remove the rear beam and paint/powdercoat the complete back of the car

Just using some normal deagreasant from the motor factors it's ok, but I am going to buy some propper"gunk" for the passengers side as that stuff is miles better than what im using.
