Depends on the forum. I would think it would work somewhere like Passionford but it would just be abused on a forum where there is an 'in' crowd (like MIG)

Scoobynet are not to be used as a model of how to do anything!

They are extremely guilty of oversensorship!

A friend of mine had his Scooby tuned by one of their pet tuners (imagine Stu, but without any actual talent). When he dared to question the setup after reading some horrific EGTs, he went back to the said person. He basically told him that it was fine and to STFU.

After this, he posted to see what EGTs others were getting for reference! Guess what. Said person made his feelings known that he did not like being questioned, and link was removed!!!!! LEts remember that there was no actual insults, just a genuine chap trying to get genuine answers.

Long story short, he took the car to a different tuner who looked at the setup, and almost fell over in shock to how the car was left (needless to say that the first one had blamed the lumpy running on the cam!). Car was put right (map only) and all was well in the world.

So matey posted his results (again not mentioning those involved to ensure no offence was taken), but giving details of the EGTs and running before and after. Guess what......

The only legitimate legal reason for preventing any publication generally would be Slander. Given that none of those involved were specifically named, how can there be slander?

I give you an example.

Because I wanted to know how he got on with his car, I made a post that in effect asked for an update on how he had got on.

He answered that he had managed to get the car sorted, and was very very chuffed with the guy that had last tuned it. He also posted the AF ratio graph before and after.

A few stated that the before graph looked criminally lean (note that there was no way of identifying those involved).

The post lasted approx 1 hour. No swearing. No insults. No body mentioned by name.

Go figure

I will be the one to say that generally speaking, I find that the PF moderators are a breath of fresh air by comparison - they favour a more 'stand off' approach which is correct.

Whilst I am in the process of slagging of Scoobynet (something I find easy), I not so long ago asked a general question about my boost controller to the forum, part to show that not all Ford owners were so closed minded as to refuse to take advice, but also because I needed some assistance from guys who were more likely to come across the technology (after all it is designed for Jap cars).

I am pleased to say that a couple of the forum guys were only too happy to help me, and a reasonably interesting and informative thread began.....

.... until some fucked up prick decided that this was not the right place for the thread, and moved it to a room that had absolutely no viewing ever - non-subaru technical or something or other. Net result. Very very quickly indeed no more posts!!!! Why?

Clearly the other half running the board (notwithstanding the fuckwit that deals with the rest of it) is the type that likes everything in its place, and my thread clearly had no right in the place that I put it!

Thank fuck PF dont do the same, else it would be the same as every other fucking Ford site - empty!
