Hi all, can anybody help, my car keeps on cutting out while driving and smokes from the exhaust but checking on the dip stick it doesnt seem to be losing any oil, even though the colour of the oil is blue. It smokes just before cutting out and then restarting again. Its fine at standstill etc. The car used to cut out after giving it some, but now just while driving it normally!

Its an xr2i 8v by the way

yup i dunno, my guess would be piston rings?.. if it was the head gasket it would probably be difficult to start.

someone will know but it doesn't sound good mate.
