Lost my national insurance card a while back but need it for the Army, anyone know where to re-apply for one?

I think I only had mine for about 6 months before losing it

Probably somewhere online you can reapply...but I haven't the time or inclination to look.

 

you should know your NI number anyway..... for this reason!!!!!

Didnt know you could get a replacement? i lost mine when i was about 16

 

I just remember the number and refuse to get any job that wants to see my card...and any other job actually..

A national insurance number card (NINO card) is not proof of your identity, it is just a reminder of your national insurance number.

However, if you lose your national insurance number card, you should report this to the benefits office or HM Revenue and Customs (NI contributions) office. You have to fill in a form to get a replacement card. You are only allowed one replacement card.

 

i lost mine to a train, got whooshed away and i founnd it coupla hundred yards up track and it was cut in half

 

do they actually ask to see your card for things? ive never had to show mine for anything when i think about it, ive been asked my NI number loads of times but i know it anyway so not a problem

 

They ask to see your card...you say you don't have it but know the number...they look at you a bit funny like you're short of a body part not just a NI card and take down the number.

 

Lost mine in under a week

then found it again

and now its lost again

 

I never got mine phoned erm years ago and there said you only get the one sent told erm i didnt get it and there answer was you did cant get another !!
i thought this was stupid but if someone knows dif tell me
