depends how much money you have to spend...could look like a xr3i rep for about 400/500 inc car....its all down to shopping about....

they are very reliable..well my mates is...

and they are nippy...i wouldnt say quick as its only a 1.3....

1.3 ohc are as fast as a shopping trolley, soon as you get it buy a cvh or zvh or fork out the bit extra for a xr3i or rst,if youve got Ł500+to spend, youll be able to get a better xr3i than a 1.1-1.3(rarer to find)and the insurance isnt a killer either, youll have to wait ttwo years anyway or put it on your moms for the first few years

Go for an Eclipse mate ! , they do a nice Metalic Blue that would look ACE with some 90 spec colour coded bumpers some alloys and a 90 spec interior

Already has remote alarm and central locking on most and a XR3i 88 spec style coded spoiler

They are 1.3 OHV or HCS engines , and YES they are slow on accelaration but the top end is still around 100 MPH ... i think the 0-60 time is around 13-14 seconds. But the engines run forever even tho they are nasty sludgie engines as a rule lol CVH all the way but itll do you nicely till you have at least 2-3 years no claims ... dont run before you can walk

Get a solid shelled 1.3 - rust is a killer.

Best is a flat colour, red for example as you can get add ons sprayed cheaper or by yourself with a little confidence.

I would save up and buy the following

second hand Lowering kit, alloys, and exhaust back box, fit that all and t-cut and polish the shit out of the paint

Then if you have some budget left, get some XR3i bumpers and possibly some recoaro front seat - will feel like your doing a million miles an hour sitting still. If the bumpers need a spray over, get some tips and have a go yourself, a flat colour isn't to hard to get a good finish.

Best advice, keep taking picutres and post a thread up in the resto section. The let people know what you are after and what cash you have, people will help you out.

In my opinion a really clean smooth lines slammed pop plus has as much respect as a turbo!

when your young people know you can't afford a turbo, but if you have made a tastful job of what you have then your due some credit.

if ever you have watched anything remotely educational about the titanic you would realise how much work, effort, skill and craftsmanship it took to build such a ship!.. it only sunk because of the cunt not watching where he was going
