Default where to put the map sensor...

Hi there!

I would like to place the map sensor on my 3dr somewhere else, as I want it to be accessible/replaceable more easily!

I guess many of you have done that already, so:

Any recommendations where to put it best?
Or does anyone have pics of his solution he could share? - that would be great!

Thanks alot in advance!

surprisingly, not many people do relocate the MAP sensor. those that do sometimes put it on a strut brace if fitted.

wherever you put it, make sure it is mounted the same way around as standard (i.e. with nipple pointing down) otherwise you will have problems with condensed water or oil giving a false reading

Thanks for the advice!
That's a good point - I always thought the mounting direction doesn't
matter, but I didn't think about condensed water...

Thanks again, if I have a proper solution I will post pics...

Not great pic but the map sensor is on the right hand side of the strut brace, underneath of course, next to the spare 3 bar map sensor also mounted to the strut brace

Hey - Thanks for the pic!

That's a very good idea, unfortunately I don't have a strut brace because I never wanted to drill holes in the strut towers...

Maybe I should

Hi,

On strut, 2 MAP "check to check" ready to spare if necessary.
As "bige" says, lengh of tube is 280 mm. maxi, with original I.D., to avoid bad response from MAP to the ECU.

Regards.

Fail often : no.
But, If you have trouble shooting, you can easely eliminate MAP factor.
