Default rear wheel bearing on a 2wd saff

i have just done the rear wheel bearings on my saff its all torqued up properly but its really hard to turn the hub theres no driveshaft connected so i thought it should be quite easy to turn can any body help are new wheel bearings tight for a start

Not to sure,at a guess id say it should spin very easy as the bearings new

tightend mine up with a huge pole until it was tight. a mate of mine told me thats how they did it in the ford dealer he worked in.

They shouldn't be that tight. If you torque up the nut too tight the bearing will overheat.

Are you sure you torqued it to the correct setting?

As above new wheel bearing should rotate freeley.

it was hard to turn before i even done the hub nut up. done both side now and both are the same they are just so hard to spin i mean you can only just turn them by hand even with the hub nut loose ive done load of wheel bearings on rs turbos and other stuff but not on a cossie it just feels really strange something just dont seem right with them. there genuine ford bearings ive done just what it says in the work shop manual .

Hub nut needs to be torqued up to between 250 and 290nm (184 - 213 lb ft), quite tight i'd say
