Default what are scorpio`s like?

i posted a question the other day about how good are sierra 4x4 estates, loads of people kept mentioning the 24v v6 fitment into 1.

as i like my electric toys in cars, cruise, heated seats,i feel it would be better for me to get a scorpio instead.
it would have to be an auto (so the missus could drive)

are they a good old bus? noticed there are loads of 2.0l,2.4l and 2.9`s about.
looking for a good solid drive, about 20ish to the gallon.
whats best?

thanks
dave

Granada Scorpio 24v - ALL Automatic, 2.9 V6 24v, 195bhp

Leather (fronts heated and electric, rear if a hatch back, the rears recline a little too)
A/C
Electric windows
Electric sunroof
heated front screen

The frog face Scorpio is same as above, but drivers seat has memory and comes with t/c as well usually. they dont have reclining rear seats though.

Some come with cloth seats.

Both cars are cheap, but make sure you dont get one with dodgy electrics!!!

, we had a 2.0 dohc grannie scorpio, it was very good
until it chucked its hand in engine again
td or 12v v6 or 24v best imo, very comfy cruisers.
i like the 4x4 v6 with the RS kit, a tt turbo conversion
thats a proper old smoker

the frog eyed ones are basicly the same as the granada's but with slightly different suspension and a few new panels on them

if you get a 24V make sure it's quite when it's ideling, changes gears porperly, goes into 4th at around 45 mph and doesn't wait for ages to go into reverse

other than that, the suspension can do with polying and the brakes may have seen better days and make sure the fuse boxes haven't got wet (ford did a recall and put bigger covers over the tops of them on the 92 spec cars, split fuse boxes so twice the electrical gremlins, but easy enough to swap over)

quick enough once on the move, my one averaged about 16 around town and close to 30 on the motorways if driven fairly sensibly

put your foot down and they do go, but they aslo chug the petrol a plenty as well

big comfy crusiers with a bit of suspension work and they'll last absuolutly for ever (or at least until the rear acrhes start to rot out, then they are fit for the scrap heap)
