Default Flicking rev counter, squealing(?) coil...help!

Aargh!!

Car was running sweet for about an hour this afternoon then decided to cut out.

After restarting it, it would run for a bit then cut out again.

The rev counter has started goin a bit crazy, and when started it will run for a bit til i put my foot on throttle then it misfires and dies.

What is it that causes the rev counter to go crazy?? Would it be a phase sensor prob, crank sensor, or ign module problem??

Oh, and there is also a squealing noise coming from the coil. Anyone think it might be a faulty coil, or does something else cause it to squeal??

the rev counter is controlled from the ign amp on the inner wing, check the wiring plug on that....

Il maybe buy a new ign. amp, anyone know if its a common part for a motor factor to keep??

maybe the coil is backfeeding to the amp then? that may be why it was squeking?

with my car, anthin is possible at the mo.

It has had a misfire for a while, cleared up for an hour or so today (been stuttering at high revs-managed a 150 run today)then conked out later.

Il swap the amp over on monday and see where i get from there.

The coil is new, as are plugs, leads, dis cap, rotor, coil lead, and almost everything else (Incl phase sensor)

I wiggled the crank sensor when it was running, that seems ok, as do the connections to the coil, so il swap that and if there is still a prob its on to the TPS sensor for swappin.

Im startin to get fed up with the thing TBH, thats over a grand spent and still no further on wi the misfire, and im runnin out of cash.........
