Default Braking problem

I was out in the cossie yesterday and basically applied the brake and felt a clicking through the pedal. Whilst this happened the ABS warning light came on. I took my foot off the brake and re-applied it and everything worked fine and the ABS light had gone off.

Does anybody have any ideas what might have caused this?

No, bone dry. It's really strange and has never done it before. I was literally doing about 20 mph too. Just coming to a stop at some traffic lights.

thats a faulty abs sensor i think.had that on a previous car.you touch the brakes and it feels like youve lost them.then switch off, start again, brakes are back to normal for a bit, then they go again.
Hope this helps.
it was on a Rover 220 turbo (before i could afford cossie ins!!!) and there were 2 abs sensors on each wheel £125 each.
