Default dry sump. no need for breathers ????

right we have got a dry sump kit to go on our zetec turbo

but am i right in saying we can block the breathers off as technically they are no longer needed as any crankcase pressure will be tacken out via the the oil resovior tank in to a catch tank, if you know what i mean.

yes you can block of the breathers mate, one of the benefits of a dry sump setup is that you can run the crankcase at a vacuum, makeing the engine rev more quickly

I would be interested to know how much difference you notice before and after the installation....

I think the pump spec will state whether or not you can run in vac. It needs to have a big enough scavenge stage to support it, only place there will be a breather will be at the top of the oil tank then
My slim jim pump(iirc 3 stage) can and thats pretty much one of the most popular pumps used.
