Welcome to the madhouse

As for the "chip", was it from ebay by any chance and look suspiciously like a 2p resistor?
Put it in the bin, you will gain more power that way than you would if you fitted it!

thanks anyway! now that you mention the 2p resistor your probably right! i baught the car in the summer for not a lot but i was told that it was probably worth more than double for what i paid, recently with all the great weather we r having in scotland just now i found out that my rear window rubber is leaking quite bad! and as ford want a 100 pounds for the rubber and 50 to fit it i cant afford it just now! does anyone have any solutions as to what i could do in the meantime?? i thought about getting another boot lid or another window rubber from the scrapyard but there is a chance it might not seal again!! please help as it is bugging me big time and my boot will have ducks in it shortly!

Is it the window rubber or the seal on the inside lip that it shuts against ?

Welcome

Get one from the scrappy (be careful how you take it off) & replace yours with it - easy

It'll take you 15 minutes to change it - get some cord & give it a go

No probs - if you get stuck do a search on here as there's been plenty of threads asking how to change glass & some good tips too or just put up a post asking how it's done & you'll get loads of help

Working from the inside fold the rubber lip up and out. Work your way round and after about 1/2 is done you will be able to lift it out.

For a quick fix for now you could smear the cracks with silicone sealant that should stop it leaking

On older fords its usually the metal that has rotten away in the corners not the rubber that causes the leaks by the way

Sod that Takes an age

You just lie on the back seat and push the window out with your feet

(dont forget to have your glamorous assistant ready to catch it )
