Default What causes understeer???

My mini in this shit weather seems to understeer alot

Its got Yoko AO32 Tyres - Semi slicks, neg camber arms, poly bushed front end, Spax 14 way Adjustable shocks ( set to 6 on the front, so not to hard )...

Which will cause this to happen, As I need to get it sorted, Even at 20/30mph on roundabouts it understeers and its a right cunt

Cheers

Understeer caused by a number of reasons including knackered front tyres, suspension too hard on the front, road conditions, excessive speed into the corner.

Never driven a mini so got no idea how they handle. Is it an older one with really skinny tyres?

Remember skids are caused by one or more of the following:

A - Accelerating too hard.
B - Braking too hard.
C - Cornering too hard.

If the road conditions are bad just make sure you corner gently and don't accelerate too hard.

One, the main reason, power and steering through 2 wheels = them to spin, when they spin they lose traction, thus causing the car to go in a straight line rather than turn.

Negative camber will only work in the dry when you're taking a mediumish corner pretty hard and well as it makes the whole tyre sit on the road, in the wet, round a roundabout, i'd be suprised if it wasn't aiding the understeer.

Fact that its a mini with tiny wheels also won't help.

Although in the wet, round roundabouts, I seem to get far more oversteer.

LOL!

Its the weather matey... your driving a VERY old car remember - don't listen to the bollox that old minis are the best handling car ever as it simply is true!

On a serious note - you've got modified suspension, have you had the car setup by someone that understands minis... ie not your local kwikfit!!??

A032 tyres aren't actually that bad in the wet

What tyre pressures are you running?
