for road use and the occasional track day.

i'm tempted to throw my brakes in the bin and start again, just want to hear people's opinions

Best road/track pad IMO is Ferodo DS3000 they are harsh on your disks & create a lot of dust, but STOP incredably well either hot or cold.

For a less harsh pad I rate Ferodo DS2500 or Mintex 1144.

Have you tried Pagid pads and SRF fluid with your stock discs?

its currently running DS2500s with aftermarket drilled/grooved discs

i have some issues with the brakes constantly squeaky, sounds/feels like metal on metal grinding when braking from high speeds.

and after just 2 laps of donno i was getting so much judder thru the steering wheel it was unreal! (heat related, they were fine after a cool)

sum1 on the BMW forums just said that he knows a LOT of peopl ehaving identical heat/judder issues to me with DS2500s and swapping pads cured it.

Hi Jim

the juder is cause from your discs , they are warped under heat and heavy braking

you need thicker discs that would be a start , the ds2500 are kind of light racing pads they do cause alot of heat

I've experienced similar with DS2500's however it was down to being a pussie with the brakes & not stamping on them.....the judder was so bad at one point the steering wheel was shaking.......a few corners later Propperly standing rather than trailing & they were fine.

Worth a try before you bin them

Those M3s are heavy old buses.
They upgraded to a "floating" disc on the EVO didn't they - probably to help with heat dispersal and cooking wheel bearings

If you have to stick with DS2500's try de glazing them before starting the 1st morning session.
