Default Once insurance has been instructed...

...about a claim, can it be pulled?

Just a friend had an incident with another friend on Boxing day, Friend A who suffered damage told his insurance company, however is now thinking of settling off the insurance with Friend B...is Friend A able to pull his claim with the insurance company and forget about it?

He MAY be able to stop the claim, but it will be on his "record" as having a claim against him.

What if Friend As insurance company have no details as yet of Friend Bs vehicle & insurance?

As in Friend A told his insurance he had been shunted, however he did not have the Reg no of the vehicle he was shunted by or the insurance company of the driver?

i believe its illegal to not notify of an accident, whether you intend to claim or not?

therefore they wont remove it

yes you can cancell the claim with no adverse affect on your no claims.

i have just done this on behalf of my daughter after i persuaded the other party to pay for the repairs privately.

ah there you go then, cool
(although i think it will still be on your record and therefore you have to declare you have had an accident although it wasnt your fault and no claim was made)
