How?



I have a chassis number. But need to know what the Reg number is?

How do i??

 

Main dealers can sometimes help. I know BMW can retrieve reg numbers from chassis, although assuming you are asking about a ford, i'm not 100% sure if it works the same!?

Asked local Ford, as its an old car 82-86 they said the info is not on the system?

 

Jano, You can find out on HPI trade web, Im not back to work till the 2nd but if you have had no joy by then pm me the number and i'll get you the reg

 

Some parts dealers can do it the other way round..... does anyone know if that can be done on the net somehow... ie chassis from reg ??

I'm not saying Ford are the same but where I work at Peugeot we can get the reg from the chassis number froma central computer. The only problem being is that we can only do it on P reg cars or NEWER.

As I said I dont know what Ford is like

ford is from late hreg transits and later other cars for there system,,,, and even then its only if the cars still got the original plate

Like i say the car is an 1982 - 1986 it does not show on microcat or the previous system at local Ford.

Jano, you can get it via HPI just do a search via vin instead of reg - We do it all the time at work when one of our cars won't come up, do it by vin and it comes up with there new private plate that they havn't informed us about
