why delocking a car...
De locked my doors on my 16i because some cunt did one of them for me and made such a mess of the door in his feeble atempt at stealing my car that it was the ONLY option.
Boot was left alone.

I delocked the doors on my old sierra (xr4x4) and when the battery failed I used to pop the bonnet from underneath with a screwdriver
If my car wasn't so standard I'd do it again
It's easy to see you don't live in the uk
<- real. Theiving gits punch the locks on Fords so the easy way to avoid that is to remove the locks.

Thank God I binned that poxy Clifford shite
I don't really think it's cosmetic add-on for my car, cos it's so small, but I got a de-lock bezel for my ST to stop thieving chavs from trying to pick the lock. It's not easy when there's not lock to pick
As others have said, security. I parked my sierra at a beauty spot to go cycling and came back to find the lock hanging out the door. Some scumbag had taken my wallet which was hidden out of sight in the glove box and mobile. They weakened all the metal around the lock which was why I was going to get it done. As I was at uni, I couldnt afford it so spent 25 quid on a new door instead.
my mate delocked and de-handled his lupo and fitted door poppers but his alarm (clifford again) kept draining the battery so i had to make him up a way of getting in which consisted of 4 wire running from his locking and door poppers back through the car and into a dc jack thing fixed inside of his arch liner so when it failed you had to reach between the arch and liner , pull down the little plug and i made him a corresponding plug with 6 meters of wire and a cigar lighter adapter on , plug that into another car and the doors would unlock a driver door open
its not worth the trouble , better off buying a good alarm

I smashed the rear light on my Saph so I could reach in and pop the boot open. I had a copper drive passed several times while I was hitting the light with a hammer and they never stopped

only gona findanother way in any way smash the glass or bend the door top over i usually wire the alarm to the central locking but leave the locks with the bars of so if anyone trys once they have the lock out and notice its no good the alarm is going anyway
I had the doors de-locked on mine after such thieving scum rammed a screwdriver in the door lock and ripped it downwards.... ripping the door skin with it. As soon as he got the door open the Toad alerted him to the fact that he was going nowhere with it, so he legged it.
I have left the boot lock which is as stiff as hell to open but at least is a means of entry if the battery fails, which it did do shortly after the car was de-locked as the stupid arses that did it didn't put the wiring back in the driver's door properly, so when the window was going down it was cutting into the wiring.....

Personally I dont know anyone who has had an alarm remote fail, so for me its not actually a problem i would be worrying about!
