Default t34 for rst fitment

hi all,
Im considering buying a T34 with 0.48 exhaust housing for my rs turbo ,only thing that makes me wonder is,can it be fitted to a erst elbow ?? I dont wanna have a custom made elbow + ex. wastegate
do I need a specific exhaust housing so the bolts will line up?
how about a cossie 0.48 4x4 turbo, ive heard this bolts straight on?
any help would be appreciated

No cossie tuebo bolts staight on, they all have a 3boltt outlet compared to the RS turbo 5 bolt outlet. You will need to modify ur exhaust in some way. The design of the cossie exhaust housing is far better than the RST, as on the RST the impellor outlet is shrouded.

so if I were to buy a 4x4 cossy turbo, with 0.48 housing for my ERST,I should buy a standard sierra cosworth 4x4 turbo and a cossy downpipe? does this have to be a 4x4 downpipe or is a 2wd downpipe fine as well?

The downpipe doesn't matter - they will all fit to the cossie turbo. You then need the downpipe cutting and welding to fit your exhaust.

All the cossie turbo's use the same exhaust housing (Escort T34 is bigger - but same fitting). You don't need to buy more than one turbo!

thx for your help Rick I see your rst is equipped with a T34 is that on a 1600 cvh? whats the ride like, more lag then a 4x4 turbo I take?

the only reason Im considering the T34 is because ppl claim it delivers boost more progressive, although higher in the rev range ? thus easier on the gearbox and less wheelspin?
and also it pumps more volume of air with equal pressure compared to the 4x4?
the amount of lag is the same as the 4x4 turbo because of the 0.48 housing?

what would be the best choice with those specs, 4x4 t3 or t34?
cvh 1858cc 88 stroke , 7.5 : 1, stage 2 head
cos management

sorry for all the questions

im running a t34 with t3 0.48 housing hot and t4 0.60 cold with a dash 23 wheel

spins less in 1,2,3 and delivers power higher up than the straight t3 i was running before

slightly more lag but the gains at the top are huge
