Black = Auxiliary Air Device
Yellow = Coolant Temperature sensor
White = Secondary CTS (not critical)

Whoever it was told you that either the yellow or the black dont need connecting is a liar! They are both critical

As you correctly said, this is the 12v feed to the auxiliary air device, fuck knows how they had the car running well in the previous car with this wire cut. You need to join it to the Black/Red on the Purple Relay plug.

Pass on that one, find out what plug it goes to and i can tell you more!

If the yellow plug was disconnected, then i can safely tell you in confidence the car it came from would of run like a complete bag of shit.

LOL. no CTS, and the auxiliary air device unplugged.

Must of been a real nice car

I expect it had an XR3i injector plate, they are exactly the same but the 3i doesn't have the coolant sensor. Still has the connection for the water hose and the thermo time switch though.

I fuckin hate people that cobble cars up

Are you sure that the Black/Red wire shown above isn't for the cooling fan? Would have made more sense as to why it was switched in-car and the colour is right.
