Default Is my car chipped ???

I know you all my have heard this time and time again but im no mechanic i just drive the thing !!!! My RS is supposed to be camed and chipped(the last owner told me this) it was boosting up to 15psi on my boost gauge but has now dropped to 12psi, it has(i think) a standard actuator on it as it doesnt look big enough for a -31, i took the pipe from the actuator to the anamel valve off at the anamel end but left it on at the actuator. i ran the car down the road and hit 20psi before i backed off, it did this with no problems, so is my car chipped or would it have done this on a standard ford ECU ???

Any help would be appreicated

I ran 16psi on my standard ECU by doing what you did with the pipes, turbo was glowing a touch after a trip home from Santa Pod though

It would be chipped.

And you..............are VERY brave

Hint: (don't do that again if you don't want an expensive ass rebuild)

Nah not trying to sound like your dad. But seriously! That could of been a snapped shaft in the turbo and melted pistons, the lot!!!

Removing that pipe off the actuator allows the turbo to boost to infinity until the weakest link(s) fail.

The pipe popped off on my mates R5 and it only took it boosting up once to destroy a brand new turbo
