Default Setting up a -31 actuator, help please

Hi

I've got a stage 1 chip and -31 actuator to install to my car. I'm going to set it up to run 14psi in 3rd gear to be safe but I don't know what a good starting point is to work from. I don't want to accidently start off with too much boost obviously I'm used to setting up boost using dawes devices etc but I've not done one on an actuator before.

Any tips please?

The car is a 2 wheel drive sapph running a standard t3

Thanks

Just put it on as normal, then run it up to check what its running, if to much boost lengthen the rod, if too little shorten the rod, remember dont over do it as you dont want it overboosting, one full turn till you get close then half turns

If your unsure take it to a local tuner and theyll do it no problems

I am happy to report that with a boost gauge fitted tonight the car is indeed running the standard boost pressure Roll on 14 psi!

I am still amazed at how well a standard car goes! My mate who is an evo 6 owner was a little scared and impressed tonight when he was reading the gauge for me

I've just been out trying to set it up and even with the rod lengthened to where it just slips over the wastegate I'm still seeing 1.1-1.2 bar This is only for very brief periods.

What am I doing wrong? Can I keep lengthening the rod?

I've now lengthened the rod 1 more turn so that now it's opening the wastegate but that's making the car very laggy and then still producing too much boost when it finally makes good boost What's going on here?

It's doing my head in

Thanks

Mine is a 2 wheel drive I haven't had chance with this rubbish weather to look at the car for ages now so it's just sat on my drive I hope to refit the chip and actuator and try again but everytime I think of doing it, it goes and pisses down with rain

I had a simlar experience with a stage 3 2wd, on its -34 it was boosting 23psi and holding 13. I thought it was actuator trouble and bought a new one but it would boost to 30psi and hold 20 after fitting a new actuator (Forge with white spring) no matter where the rod was. The only thing I could think was a duff actuator, never found out as I sold the car.
