Actually having read down even further on that i seriously wouldn't recommend anyone to rely on that guide..............the bit about doing valve stem seals (probably the easiest job ever) is just WRONG and no 2 ways about it

Its just shit IMO, theres lots of little things in there i picked up on.

Theres also a reference in there to poor cold starting and checking if your cold start valve is working, we ALL know the score with cold start valves and what 99.9% of the time best to do with them!!

Find that valve stem bit and u will see, that could actually cause someone a serious problem if relied upon

I see what you mean about the poor cold starting bit but the valve stem seal bit i thought was more or less wright once you broke the code it was wrote in

Pistons 1 & 3 are never at TDC at the same time..........if someone is really unlucky they will end up dropping a valve and having to take the head off to refit it

So do we agree, the guide is a soapy pile of wank?

some of it is useful..... why not correct the things he has posted wrong and do something constructive..... instead of just slagging off a lad who is trying to help people?

nobody should be critised for being helpful.....

that advice the lad has given isnt set in stone and im sure anyone with any commen sense would double check any information they get off the internet anyway.....

Lol.......indeed you joined 2 years before me, i seem to of posted some 6,500 posts more than you and you will find a very large percentage of them are helping others......ill do my best to help anyone that posts up with problems.

That link is exhaustive reading and un-accurate, ill stick to helping people the way i have so far.

Anything that is inaccurate and that could end up costing someone money because its wrong certainly has the right to be criticized.

The point is that i doubt very many people have sucessfully fixed cars from that link, its far more effective to actively answer peoples questions, and above all, theres the fact thats on a different forum which i am not a member of.............

Give over will ya he wasnt slagging anyone off, he was merely stating that some of the info given was dangerously incorrect and fair play for doing so, u mite have saved a lot of newbies some trouble

so what if you joined before savechav woop di do

give yourself a medal

if you helped half the people he has on this site youd be doing well

Ok, the valve stem issue has been edited. What else is wrong? (tell me in detail).

DazC theres loads of little things, most of it sounds like its been written based on what people have been passed down and not from actual experience.

I really would love to read it all and help get it right but its far too long and boring to read it all IMO

I understand exactly what you mean. I just thought if you had noticed a couple of points that could be addressed, I would do it.

The part about "cold start problems" need's to be edited as i would say the first thing to check is that there is a fuse in the heated seat slot as we all know this can cause cold starting problems too if there aint one and is an easy fix before you go spending load's of money on new sensors

And the bit that says if the car won't cold start to check the cold start valve is working, we ALL know more often than not the cold start valve IS the problem
