Just done a new install
1) Drive letters - how do I change em? My primary optical drive is now F: and secondary is H: - I want them to be D: + E: again... My Slave HDD is D: - I want it to be F: again... Can't remember how you change the drive letters tho...
2) In the start menu, you have the folders listed down the right side (My Docs, My Pics, My Music etc) I have all my music on my slave drive in a folder called MY MUSIC. I placed a shortcut to it into the MY MUSIC folder in My Documents on the C: Drive. Click MY MUSIC in the start menu and it opens that folder so I can see the shortcut to the slave drive folder. Before I reinstalled, I was able to hovver over the MY MUSIC in the start menu, and a little submenu would pop out with SHORTCUT TO MY MUSIC that I could click on that took me directly to the slave drive folder. I can't remember how I did this
And it's pissing me off

How To Restore the System/Boot Drive Letter in Windows

This article describes how to change the system or boot drive letter in Windows. For the most part, this is not recommended, especially if the drive letter is the same as when Windows was installed. The only time that you may want to do this is when the drive letters get changed without any user intervention. This may happen when you break a mirror volume or there is a drive configuration change. This should be a rare occurrence and you should change the drive letters back to match the initial installation.
For the Control Panel, My Computer, My Documents, My Music, and My Pictures items, you have three options:
* Display as a link
* Display as a menu
* Don't display this item
Display as a link
If you choose to display the item as a link, a single link to the item will appear in your Windows XP Start menu. For instance, if you choose to display the Control Panel as a link, you will have a single button for the Control Panel in your Start menu.
Display as a menu
If you choose this option, Windows will display a submenu in your Start menu for the item you've selected. For example, if you choose to display My Computer as a menu, you've Start menu will look something like the screen shot above when you point to My Computer. Choosing to display the Control Panel, My Computer, My Documents, My Music, and My Pictures as a menu can save you time if you frequently access those items.
Don't display this item
Choose this option if you don't want the item to appear at all in your Start menu. For instance, if you don't have any music stored in the My Music folder, you could select this option to completely remove the link from your Start menu.
its all under the advanced settings for the start menu
