Network question.....2x computers 1x router..........?????
With 2 computers connected to the same 4 port router, can you network game play between them using the router as a go between or do the computers have to be connected to each other via a single cable one to one???
Its a Netgear wired router...............
Its a Netgear wired router...............
What i'd like to do is have the 2 computers connected via the router ( i have checked and have internet access on both through the router at the same time), but one of these computers is my childrens, so i want to stop the internet access from that computer.
But be able to play a driving game multiplayer between the computers........
If anybody can help or point me in the direction of a tutorial or otherwise that would be much appreciated..............

any chance of telling us the game so I can find out what ports it uses and the model number of the netgear.
The internet access is easy to resolve you would just block it at the router
but first things first

Start > Run
type cmd
then in command line type 'ipconfig /all' you should be able to get the MAC address here (mite be acalled Phys address)
Filter out teh MAC address on the router.
et voila , no internets for the kiddies, however multiplayer between computers is unaffected.
Unless you meant multiplayer over the internet on both comps....?
