Default Insurance refunds - Waiting - question?

Brenacre tell me I have to wait until they are refunded by Highway and that they are on a 4 week backlog. Do I legally have to wait for them to get a refund? Surely as I paid Brentacre they should pay me straight away?

It's only about £100 (as I only paid my deposit) but £100 is enough. Why should i wait 4 - 6 weeks cos they have a "backlog"

Advice???

I had the same thing with Greenlight mate, Paid my policy in full (£1900) then cancelled a month later and only got (£966.??) back which I had to wait 5 weeks for

Personally I think it's a disgrace as they are hapy to take the money out of your account the same or next day, but make you wait 5 weeks for a refund with your money in their account earning them interest

From my experience with cashing in insurance you have to wait at least a month normally as it has to go through the books which dont get done until the end of the month so by the time it reaches you, is normally the first week of the following month.
