Default Funny noise from Focus RS

hi brother just bought a focus rs , there seems to be a funny noise the very odd time.

the noise comes across as a whistle/like a firework launching!!

is anyone aware of this?there is only 15000 miles on the car and is standard.

Another thing is the drooning road noise from all round, sounds like a wheel bearing, is it knowen to be a noisy car?we are putting it down to cheap tyres(wanli's)!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know?

The whistle noise you get is the standard turbo when it's working hard, think it started whistling after 4000rpm..

I don't get that sound with my GT28RS

The car does have a lot of road noise all round even with decent tyres and because of the road noise it can be hard to tell when a bearing is on it's way out.

Default Whistle Noise

I had a high pitched squeel that turned out to be an air leak when i had the K&N on. Check your hoses for air leaks

To get a noise that loud it sounds like you have a split hose or a loose jubilee clip on one of the hoses. Have a good nosey around in the engine bay with the engine running and see if you can isolate where its coming from.

Cheap tyres wont help matters and certainly wont do the handling of the car any justice in this weather. Even with good tyres you do get a fair bit of road noise as none of the arch liners are carpetted so you will hear just about everything and as stated it can make it hard to guage wether bearings are on their way out. Only sure way iss to get it off the ground and check each wheel one at a time.
