Just put weber marelli p8 set up on my mark 3 not set up yet but would guess at about 220 bhp ish. Today put a series one gearbox in and gave it a blast up the road and the clutch started to slip on boost in 3rd. The clutch was replaced and fly wheek skimmed 200 miles ago. I hadnt planned to go p8 this soon hence why standard clutch was used. Question is do I want to go organic plate or 4 paddle? Also will i get away with just puttin centre plate in due to the minimal use the cover and flywheel has had?

AP Organic. Don't use the paddle if the car is used in traffic at all.

 

Ok thanks guys, so with regards to pwers will it take 250 bhp if i push it that far? Also will i need a kit or do recon ill get away with standard pressure plate and just an organic centre plate?

 

It will do 250. U need to get ur flywheel skimmed again, as ur old clutch has been slipping, and it will have burn marks on it.

Get the WHOLE kit. Do this and you won't have a problem. Anything else is a botch.

when my std clutch started slipping above 4k , i simply had the plate itself rebuilt.
the rebuilders cut me a ss disc and attached 6 copper pads to it and still retained the springs. i reused the pressure plate and did not skim the flywheel as my motor had only done 1,500km's

six pads are easier on the drive but this type of plate are useless in traffic , if it aint your daily , rather put an uprated std unit or start giong to the gym and work your clutch leg out!!!

unfortunately an uprated clutch does hammer the rest of your drive , my box is in for repairs after 6 yearsof abuse
