Default 1.8 ZVH, info needed,

Hi,

what compression ratio will a std 1.8 Zetec bottom, with a RST ford H/G, and a std RST head be running,

also what power can std rods, and rod bolts be able to run safely?

Cheers Danny

If you bolt the standard head down to the 1.8 zetec bottom end you will get 8.5:1

its not for me,

and he's budget is real tight, so its either a a std rst rebuild, or a zvh.

its all on a xr2tt, so the powers limited to what parts he alread has on his car.

A standard ZETEC will make as much power as a standard RST. No turbo lag, better fuel economy, better response etc.

You either need to mill the head bolt platforms down to get the correct thread engagement which obviously then leaves the head only suitable for zvh's or I have used a head bolt set from a 6 clyinder bmw engine witha female torque head. Unfortunately I cant remember what car it was exactly but you could look up and compare in head bolt book perhaps.
