Default CVH/ZVH rev limits

I am wondering where you all have set your rev limits?

Also who has pulled a rocker stud out of the head and what revs?

Regards,
Simon.

i think mine is 6800 pulled a rocker stud at 6600rpm but i think this was due to the newman solid lifter locknut coming loose giving me no clearance.

but saying that my engine peak power at 6000rpm so in any case i am just over reving it with no gain, i need to drop my final drive to either a 3.5 or 3.3 my current 3.82 does'nt suit my engine.

Mine is 7300 but as I run a plain bearing turbo with cutback wheels (laggy)my turbo is delivaring power from 4200 upwards, so I use the revs to stop it dropping out of the power band between up shifts.

I have my theries(spelling?) but mine easly revs to the 7300 rev limit in the first 4 gears I just have to get another 300 revs to reach it in 5th. I have nos but have not used it yet!

Remember I have a 8.8:1 CR
The newman cam spec is for big revs (new profile coming shortly)
The inlet manifold can cope with high gas speeds
Sound bottom end

That is just a few points.

Thats very impressive Andy, what amount of valve lift were you running?
Is the spec of your old engine listed somewhere?

Unsure of the lift, the power peaked high aided by a Newman cam, short Throttleboddies(Bike) on inlet side & Long(equal lengthed)manifold on the exit.

Yup Rick the Inlet(Plenum) was needed in order for the ITB's to be used. The design has been revised again for the ZT Build.

Did you check your valve spring clearance?
whats your spec?

i used to have issue's on one of my old kent35 cam, i used to rev to just under 7000, and it broke a few rockers at different stages.
But never done it on my 1st kent 35 cam setup.

But i checked everything, and clearance's were fine.
