Default Another MK3 Cabby rebiuld.. (not really 56k friendly)

Hi all,

This is the on-going story of my cabby, she was running when i bought her about 1 year ago but had no reverse. I changed the g/box but got kinda distracted and i didnt get around to put it back together But after being given a FREE 2ltr Zetec i thought i'd finally get cracking AGAIN.

Out with the old

In with the new

Oh yeah, b4 i took it off the road (yep i was driving her with no reverse) i put in a piper 285 cam kit and i delocked the boot and passenger door, sound deadened (spelling) the floor, bought a S1 body kit, interior and some lowering springs.

Thanks for the encouragement fellas.

Seeing as whoever sprayed my cab b4 decided that they couldnt be arsed to do the engine bay, i thought i may aswell. But then again, if i'm doing that i may aswell spray the whole thing so now she's going ......................................... BLUE

Anyhow, been out and finished stripping the engine bay today well inbetween the down poors i also degreased it a bit aswell. (pics taken tonight thats why they look a little strange)

And oh look what a suprise, a mk3 in need of a new battery tray

While you are at it mate I would look at the bulkhead above the pedle box and below the wiper motor, looks can be deceiving under the bonnet they always look okay, look up from in the car

Got your work cut out there mate, I remember the days LOL

Keep us updated

Its welded to the bulkhead by spot welds, if yours isnt too rusty you should be able to feel 'em, if not then its down to the good old hammer and bolster (big thick chisel). You should be able to get under the tray and prise it up to reveal where the spot welds are, then use a spot weld drill bit to drill em out. Try not to got all the way through the bulkhead but its no big deal if you do as you can buy the tray with part of the bulkhead already attached.

good luck
