Default ATM Sport front diff plates..what ya's reckon to them?

Just reading the new performance ford mag and seen the little bit on these. I've heard about them before but never really give them a thought. Are they any good? Says that they are rated upto 500BHP..........well my car has 403 bhp and was wanting a little bit more but not loads more and i'm running all std tranny at the moment. I'm thinking of a gearbox for next year but was wondering what to do with my diffs etc.

i'd be suspicious of claims of anything to do with transmission that talk about power ratings - anyone worth their onions should know that they should be rated according to torque

I was thinking of one of these aswell as im looking for 400+. Always thought when the casings split it was nearer the prop flange not the main body, but these are ment to stop the teeth forcing apart which should keep the shaft in line and take the stress off of the casing where it splits.

yeah, thats what it claims; they stop the casing from flexing thus stopping the teeth from forcing apart..............

come on experts, whats your thoughts?

my car as said is 400bhp & 360ft/lb so dont think thick wall and ATB is really needed???

The plate should stop (or reduce) the flexing of the casing (see Doug Stirling's recent thread about his front diff) where the diff pan bolts to the main casing.
