Got a weird annoying missfire on my car (started a few weeks ago but usually cleared within minutes but now its not clearing), anyway. . whilst checking it over I took the rotor arm off the dizzy and noticed the bit of the dizzy it clips onto has some in and out play on it. . is this normal?
didnt feel normal
missfire is on #2, changed leads/cleaned plugs. . cap looks a bit fucked and could prob do with a change. . no moisture in it tho. . need to get a new cap and rotor arm and check it then now..
could low fuel cause a missfire. . doubting it. its just on idle. . not tried to drive it as fuel is too low, car never gets used. . also the plug was soaked in fuel so its deffo not getting a spark on that cylinder? never tried it with the plug out tho.

First, of all eliminate the easiest...ie put some fuel in it...
Second, the overfueled plug and missing when first running sounds like your cold start injector is on it's way, once it finally packs up, starting is VERY difficult.
And if you is a bit fik like wot I was earlier this year you'll replace/rebuild
everything else(luckily I've 2 spare cars in my spares dept)before replacing
it/takes about 20 mins. Good Luck

not sure it was a couple of mm, my pal checked it and I watched on. . .looked like a fair bit in-out
cold start valve is already unplugged
will get a new cap and rotor and put some fuel in and see how I go.

So are you telling me after all that you didnt even remove the plugs and clean them like i said to....?

I can 99.9% GUARANTEE the misfire is a result of the car being started on the drive and left to idle and not getting driven......probably one of THE best ways to foul your plugs up
