ok here i have a ERST running EFI managment,, i broke my amal valve so i bought a bleed valve but its a T piece one, where as the amal valve from a frst only has 2 pipes going to it,,
i blocked the one off that makes no difference when i turn the bleed valve and used the other 2,,
i cant boost above 5psi again!!!
i thought i had sorted it but i havnt as the pipe had come off from the turbo housing..
how do i set it up??
do i set my actuator fully closed??
which way do i turn the bleed valve to up the boost?
which way to down the boost?
is there a certain way the go the pipes?
have i made a mistake blocking off a pipe??
is there a guide on how to set em up,, regards dave,,

Best way to set up is not bother and use another amal valve. If you are going to use a bleed valve, make sure the correct pre load is applied to the actuator. On the bleed valve there should be 3 pipes, the one in the middle just goes to atmosphere, then run pipe from actuator to one side and the other side to the compressor housing on the turbo by passing the old amal valve. If you unscrew the bleed valve boost should increase. Just go easy with out a fueling check could be disasterous.

How have you got the systemn piped up? As per std FRST? with one pipe T' ing into the actuator/turbo pipe and feeding the wastegate valve on teh wing?
It kinda sounds like u've plumbed it in the same way as i have mine.
If u have u should be able to raise the boost by unscrewing the valve.
when the valve is fully turned in then ur not actually using it as i understand- hence the 5psi u have at the mo

well here is how i have it plumbed in.. as the ERST amal valve has 3 pipes to it i rekon this bleed valve would suit it,,
where as a frst bleed valve has 2 pipes to it, i dont know where to put them,,
heres how it is..#

..................................TURBO

well if i blow down one of the top pipes and turn the valve it adjusts the air flow on the bottom atmosphere pipe,??
so i just let the bottom go to atomsphere, this is the one that regulates the air flow??

Basically when you increase the air going to atmosphere your reducing the air that would normally got o the actuator. There for it opens later meaning more boost is produced before it opens.
