Its the grey relay and has a bif "F" printed on the top, and cannot be replaced with the one for the rear window (which has "R" on the top )

 

Has anyone got a relay they wonna sell or know where i can get one???

Any 89/90 Escort/Orion with a heated screen or any XR2i with a heated windscreen also.

I have got a relay here but its a bit shabby looking

Just had a quick look under the dash and can only see 2 relay's one is pink fuel pump relay the other is green and is for the abs where abouts would the windscreen one be???

The heated screen one is also up under there. I cant remember what colour the socket is, pretty sure its blue/purpley colour.

The heated window did work but it doesnt seem to now

The light come's on when you switch it on also you can hear the relay click but it wont work

If the light comes on and the relay clicks the relay is fine! The light takes its feed from the same pin that outputs to the elements.

The heated screens are prone to stop working. I suppose you might have a broken wire.........

Have you had a meter on each of the wires at the side? Each one should have 12v (2 seperate elements)

AND.......remove the roof clock and you will find the earth strap, and also a rather annoying burn mark on the back of your clock..........

 

Will have a look at it using a meter

My mate's fiesta had the same prob as me and he replaced the relay and it now works fine

Dont think the screen has a broken wire........

Will see if i have 12v and will remove the roof clock and have a look

The other half said it wasnt working so had a quick look then come home yesturday and she said its working now then i went out last nighti n the car and it was deffo working lol
