Default Cut out

After the 200 mile run trip to santa pod this weekend my car got me home and was running very well. However before i put her away i took out for a quick run. Whilst accelerating out of a corner the revs dropped completely i mean dead zero however the engine still seemed to run before it stalled, I coasted to halt.
At first i thought it was the accelerator cable as the pedal felt real weird, the cable had snapped, fixed that and the car wouldn't start.
Check all the obivous, hose's, might have been flooded ect ect No

Checked if it had a spark, no

It would appear that the distributor itself is the culprit. Besides the fact it was held together by a cable tie what looked to be a plastic washer and been smashed to smitterens. It is mullered. A new distributor is about £180 + vat

I am willing to get one but what would have caused it to do this, what else could be broken. Plugs and leads are good the dis cab is fairly new plus it looks preety clean inside? Any ideas.

Anyone got a distributor for sale?

It's problem after problem at the moment

Still had a good day at santa pod

Try one of the traders on here or put a post up in the parts

This happened to mine and i got a brand new Ford one still in the box on flea bay for £87 posted. There was 2 brand new ones on at the time so you might be lucky. I put a post in the PARTS WANTED section and did get replies but decided to go with a new one for reliability as we got small kids and did'nt want to trust a used one
