Queensway Service Road comes out onto Corporation Road Birkenhead.

The entrance to which is closed off with removable bollards. There are service vehicles for lighting inspection, drain cleaning, and even the sidewall washers are parked down there

At the Liverpool end it brings you out onto the dock road by the pier head, underneath the Royal Sunalliance building and the Thistle Hotel, that branch is open for use unlike the closed birkenhead end.

The one at the liverpool end was always open when I lived in north wales.You had to stay in the inside lane from the start to use it.The one at the birkenhead end wasnt used a lot but I have been down there.My grandad used to deliver fresh fish to hotels in north wales and I remember going through it a few times.Ah the good old days.

there sooo much interesting stuff round liverpool, esp the docks, i wanted to explore.
if wedve realised that one tunnel was accessable wedve went down there.

the new sutff theyve re-developed are dead nice, but idve love to look around i dunno, 10-15yrs ago, before they started tarting it all up, as you can see where stuff used to be but not any more (esp the amount of train tracks crossing road etc that have no tracks on each side now, etc)

 

have you seen the pics of the train tracks next to the liver buildings?

will try and get some pics of the dingle, toxteth(sp), docks, etc from when me old man was a lad.

toxteth cant have changed,,,,, its looked the same for the last 5 years,,, even the closed buildings ect aint changed apart from more boards where the windows used to be or on the really bad buildings they bricked up them windows
