ebay scam again?
for an st220, 05 plate with 20,k on the clock
this is the email i've got:

I had to pause the listing on ebay because I've almost reached an agreement with a potential buyer. Unfortunately, it looks like there are some problems and he doesn't have all the money to pay, for the moment. Therefore, if you are willing to pay the buy-it-now price 4000 GBP, I'm ready to start this transaction with you.
First of all you should know that the car is in excellent condition, mechanically and aesthetically intact, it's UK model with UK specs and it has less than 20500 miles on it. This is a always garaged vehicle. The exterior is in mint condition, the overall interior is pristine throughout, no rips, tears, burns, stains or worn spots anywhere, NEVER smoked in. The car is HPI clear with no outstanding finance on it.
Although my ebay account was initiated in UK, I'm located in Netherlands for the moment. I spend a lot of the time in UK with business but I have my family here in Netherlands. I took the car with me here a few weeks ago. I'm willing to ship it from here through Sea Cargo Shipping and cover the shipping and insurance fees to your location. The total price is 4000 GBP shipping included. I thought selling this car through Ebay would be a good idea, giving the fact that I need some fast cash to build a new house.
I would like our transaction to be supervised by eBay Motors UK. In case we have a deal I will notify eBay Motors UK transactions department so they can inform you about my reliability and how we can proceed with this transaction in a 100% safe way.
Please let me know your position as soon as possible,

i would say that i should be running ilke the wind away from this sale, espcially as it's forign and i've seen this sort of post coming up before, what say you?

well, my mate drives into europe every week so i can get him to come and collect, my old man often goes with him for the duty free run so it's easy for them to go and collect

since he emailed me, the car has gone from ebay
i was asking because it had several days to go and he said he needed at least Ł4k for it, but not to bid before you email him that you are a genuine bidder
with around 15 bids up from a few people and the price only at the Ł2k mark i thoguht i was being cheeky when i asked him if he'd accept the Ł4k
when i got the reply i put it up here as it smelled like a scam
which is why i asked the silly question in the first place

I'm in for a fast sale so I guess it will be easier for me to ship it from here to your location in UK. My schedule is also very busy with a lot of day travelling through the country(Netherlands) and I find it a bit difficult to meet you at this time.
I want you to know that our transaction will run under the supervision of eBay Motors UK Transactions department. Ebay Motors UK transactions will work for us just like an escrow service, just that the transaction will be faster and also 100% secure for both of us. You will send them the payment by direct bank wire transfer, then they will let me know that the payment is OK and I can start the shipping. After the car will arrive to you and you will inspect it, you will let them know that, so they can reveal to me the payment details. I will only be able to withdraw the money if I'll have the payment details from ebay. So if you are ready to proceed just let me know your full name and address and I will notify them so we can both get detailed information regarding proper payment, shipping and insurance to be used for this international deal. The reg number is ET54DKV. Unfortunately, due to security reasons, I cannot provide you the chassis number and the V5 until I have a proof of payment.

am trying to sell it as low as i can to complete the sale fast (my loss will
be your gain). It still has UK registration, cos I didn't paid for Italy
import taxes so it will be very easy for you to register the BMW in your
country. You will have to pay just the taxes associated with registering it
in UK. The car meets United Kindom DOT and EPA guidelines so there will be
no problems regarding UK Customs policy on receiving the car.
The car is in a perfect cosmetic and engine conditions, and meticulously
maintained. No damage, no scratches or dents, no hidden defects, the engine
doesn't smoke, runs and sounds awesome, the engine has never been repaired
or something like that, never been into accidents and it is as advertised
.The car comes with log book, HPI cleared, it is free of encumbrances and
liens. You will get from me the keys and all documents to register the item
in UK, and also a bill of sale in your name and signed by me.
If the car is not how i described it, i will offer a full refund, upon the
return of the item in original
condition (return postage at my expense). It will be insured during
transportation and will be delivered at your front door in maximum one week.
Final price is Ł4,200.00 (this price includes the shipping and insurance).

i have asked him to recondiser my offer as it would safe me time and effort and would give my old man somethng to do of a weekend
