intercooler help

Default intercooler help

not ford but hopefully someone will know....i have bought a smart car intercooler for my classic mini turbo and the pipes going in and out are 44mm and 46mm...question is which one is inlet and outlet???

How the hell are you going to manage to fit into that Mark? You'd need to fold yourself into half

I'd say 46mm is inlet and 44mm outlet as the air is cooled it gets denser, therefore won't need as much space on passing out.

I could be wrong tho

been driving about in it nath...very good car and suprising a few other cars they try it on and then give up when they realise its not a normal 1970 mini ... about 300bhp per ton

Are you plumbing in a act sensor at all? If so trial and error it.

Also where are you looking to locate it Mark? As I said before the guy up the road from me is doing something similar but to a van. Its off been painted at the moment, but it would be interesting to know how you've done it as they always seem to run a bit too hot ....

maybe it doesnt matter.... but surely they would make both pipes the same diameter if that was the case

you have to remember this was designed for a smart car- the pipe sizes were probably like that for convenience with the instalation rather than any technicalities within the cooler.
