what do you think i know its probly been asked a million times

Depends where you are going with the car.

The stock cam is quite good actually. If you want more then Kent CVH35 would be my choice but there have been more than a few issues with the quality of the blanks.

Newman cams are sposed to be the business but I've not used one yet

i run a custom spec newman cam ,made more power than the piper t2 at 0.5 bar less boost

No, the cams are the same. Only the pulleys are different so the cams are timed differently XR3i vs. RST.

I have to say that whilst I agree with the idea of avoiding Piper and Kent at all costs, fitting a Newman Cam and Solid Lifters, isn't really a straight-forward DIY job. It takes us 1-2 hours to set the solid followers up on mine and that's with us having done it countless times. It requires most than just the ability to hold a spanner.

Other than that, Newman is the best of what is available out there.

I agree with Christian, it is a complete pain to adjust the clearances.

I think it cost me around £330 for a set of solid followers and cam.

totally agree mate,there a pain to get right
cost me 120 quid everytime one starts to chap,so i learnt myself how to do it
anyone got the guide for doing it from pf,might help those that have got this cam
