The criminal activities at National Day are the subject of investigation by the Police, by Dominion Plan and by your Club. We will give you as much information as we can, but this is a criminal investigation and the Police have the final say as to can be said. If we do not or cannot answer your questions on any point please remember we cannot do anything that would interfere with the Police work, and in any event they will not tell us all they know until the end of the investigation, at least. As much as anyone we want to know what went on, but this is likely to take some time, so please be a bit patient.
The Club has requested a report from the security firm we employed for the weekend and when this is available a meeting will be held with the Managing Director of that company to consider in detail the events of last Saturday night.
As far as we are aware at this time the facts are that :-
one car was stolen,
several pit garages entered or attempted entry
and several vehicles were tampered with.
Also, regalia was entered and stock taken.
The stolen car was reported in a "Fail to stop" incident by West Midlands Police at 2.00am Sunday Morning.
If anyone has any information on anything that went on please report it to the Police at Castle Donington and please also inform the Club by putting it in writing to me at the address below, with your name and address.
Unfortunately any large gathering with expensive and desirable things on display will always attract a small element of low life. The Club does its best to make sure it does not happen but somehow it has. Any help you can give will be very much appreciated.

some have commented though how 'the club' turned down donnington security and went ther own (cheaper maybe?) route, if thats the case then surely the buck has to stop (to a certain extent anyway) with the RS owners club for penny pinching on an important part of the day ie security. noone from the club (on anything i've read) denies this that they didnt employ donnington security.

I appreciate the fact nothing has been agreed or denied but surely the RSOC/Dono/Security Firm have to be cautious on any "statements" made reference the incidents at National day.
Does employing a security firm release an organisation of the liability for theft etc ?
Q. If I park my car on an NCP car park with a security guard (and pay to park there) who do I go to in the event of my car being nicked ?
A. My insurance company
Same applies here methinks !
Dont want to stir up the whole debate again but just wanted to post Gizmo's statement on here as lots has been said on PF's BB ref the scum on the Saturday night.

RSrussell - It appeared that after the event that lots of people had lots of opinions (good or bad) but as soon as a sensible statement is made then all goes quiet - Funny that !
BTW:- Cat amongst the pigeons is a well known saying !
RS2K its "all gone quiet" because its 8:50 on a friday morning and no sod is online

I think the whole deal stinks about what went on.
I was in the pits on the Saturday and having looked at the state of the garage doors I wouldnt have left my car in there - I took it with me to the campsite round the corner.
Funny how the PAID security guards would not let people into the pits without a pit pass on the Sunday yet it appears anyone could enter on Saturday night ?

The vehicle in Question was a white 3Dr which used to be owned by the former regalia officer for the club Martyn Howell, and now owned by Jem, who used to be the Esc Cos registrar.
It is still outstanding at this time, and was lost by the police in the Stetchworth(spelling) area of Birmingham, in the early hours Sunday morning
Any memebers of any board forum keep em peeled.
It has a white half cage, and gold BBS split rims.
Thanks

I was down in donny on the Saturday night to meet a few friends that were camping, there was a cruise on which we went and had a nose at, was loads of peeps using the track, walking around etc, not once did i see any Security.
The whole place was open to all, access all areas, no one to stop you.

Maybe later we may get more informative statements from those involved
1. RSOC
2. Security Firm
3. Donington Park
4. Those that pinched it !
(For those that may need clarification No 4 is a sarcastic tongue in cheek comment
)
