Just wondering what oil people use and if it helps the tapping noise u get from the tappets?

 

use Mobil one 15w50 motorsport
tapping noise could be worn tappets or camshaft

 

I've not long had a rebuild and everything sounds fine ment to help prevent tapping noise. Because i know these engines are known for it.

 

well the only time mine ever tapped was when the cam was shot! a good healthy cvh wont tap

tapping is a funny one. I have fitted countless cams, and some are silent, some tap straight away. It depends on the innards of the lifters imo - they are not consistent. But, it's not doing your engine any harm.

 

My engine been completely rebuilt from bottom up with new piper cam kit,only 2000 mls on it and the tappets rattle and im using 15/50 oil.
