Heres my s2 so far let me know what you think but please be gentle as I'm a sensitive guy!

I should have labelled all this really

I've missed out lots of prep work here (striping it all etc.) but I'm trying to keep the pics to a minimum. just finished spaying underneath!! what a job that was
I've re-undersealed it after all the welding had been done, although there wasn't really that much welding to do
and then sprayed over the underseal in gloss black. I thought about striping the underseal off but I want to use the car when it's done, and I don't want to be worrying to much about damaging it, anyway see what you think.

Preping ready for the top coat

HHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM???????

I'll probably spray this again cos I'm not really happy with it but here goes anyway.

A few other goodies

I'm finishing the paintwotk today after spraying it again, so I'll post all the pics soon as I can.
just finished painting it again so let me know what you think
A big ,big thanks to Damo for all the advice.

I just could'nt wait to put these stickers on

Thanks Sticker Paul, yep painted it myself and it was c**p! but it's a learning curve I suppose
I've just painted it again with a new gun and it looks lots better
pics at the weekend.
If you got any Q's re painting, give us a shout mate, What Gun are you using TBH, If you want the best results, buy the best gun... DeVilbiss Sata for example.
I did the same as you when I was 16/17, bought myself couple of guns, taught myself to spray.... read a few boks...ended up with a BLACK mag featured car

Underneath I stripped off any underseal that was loose or looked like it needed replacing and then I sprayed it with smooth hamerite, the reason that I used hamerite is because although it takes months to completely dry I think it is probably less brittle than 2 pack and hopefully more resistant to stone chips
I spoke to Paul cox at the rs show last year(2003) and thats what he did with his car and he's won the gold cup in concourse for three years now, now I don't think that I will ever enter mine in concourse but thats the standard I'm after, so if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me, cos his car is mint!!
Damo thanks for that I'll find out what my gun is and get back to you.
landynutter thanks for that
I love my range rover it's a 4.6hse and I've just had multipoint lpg fitted, It now stands me at Ł9,000 all in BARGAIN!! 30 to the gallon, riding above the traffic, and I can fit both the kids in and all there gear!! the bm's a 330 clubsport it's quick on the motorway but it handles like s**t it's got to many traction control devices on it, it makes it very frustrating to drive quickly, it's more of an executive toy than a sports car, it's good for posing with the stereo on top notch though
anyway thanks for all your comments you don't know how much it helps to receive positive comments from people
having said that if any of you spot something you think I'm doing wrong please let me know.
Thanks again,
Ant.

From: Dartford, Kent - Home of the two way one way system.
I know of no mk 3 or 4 escorts with power steering, i do know that it come on the mk5 tho.............
So how you going to be running it? Electric pump or off of the pulley system?

as per vroooom ptissssh the mobility escorts came with power steering but these are rarer than rocking horse shit and I've never come cross one.
They did do air con for the mk4s too!
Will be interesting to see how u go about this rs4all, I've been looking into power steering for ages but never got round the rack problem!

Damo,
Pretty much everything you said helped actually, thanks again for the time you took to explain everything, the big thing for me with this car is that I do everything myself and I had almost resigned myself to the fact that I was going to have to send the car to a body shop, so when you sent all you're info I thought I'd give it one last try and luckily I made up with the results. I followed you're intructions to the letter I had them written down as I was spraying
I only had one bad run and I've managed to flat that out so it's almost invisible
I did have to flat pretty much all over, but I only used 2200 and 2500 grade paper with lots of warm soapy water, and it was alot easier to polish the scratches out!! although it took alot longer to do. the only place I hardly had to flat was the roof, it,s so much easier on a flat surface
anyway I think the car should be almost ready by Cristmas, so I can just spend the months leading up to summer finishing off. so I'll hopefully be able to meet up with you at one of the shows, and you can give me you're oppinion.
Thanks again Damo, I owe you a few pints!!!!!!!!

Gary (Barney) I'll gladly spray you're car mate but I've no room until I get mine back on the road, unless you've got somewere to spray it. One thing though you'd better have a look at mine first to check wether it's good enough
anyway what car have you got now you've sold the cossi.
