hi ppl
as per my previous topic, ive just fixed my clutch. However on the test drive its over boosting. It was set up last week at AVA running about 10/11 psi, very close to the boost limiter. I dont THINK i touched the adjustable boost valve when doing the clutch. The only thing I think is different is that before I done the clutch the amal valve plug was out, but when I was building back up after the box was fitted I fit the amal valve plug. I thought the amal valve controlled the boost, therefore surely this wouldnt make it over boost? Im gonna try and unplug it, see if that works then if not ill turn the boost down but thought id ask if theres maybe something ive not put back together after ive done my clutch that would cause this?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
(ps - mind I had the problem of my car cutting out on full throttle - well it was the wrong throttle position sensor that was fitted, so when it was full throttle the sensor was telling the ecu that it was closed. I checked my TPS part number with a mates S2 RSTurbo and they were different)

OK kids lets think logically, changing a clutch won't do anything to your boost!
Unpluging/disconecting then incorectly pluging connecting various items upon reassembly WILL.
Carefully drive back to ava and ask the very nice man to look at your 'reassembly'.

clearly changing a clutch wont do anything to your boost, and ultimately i probably will be heading back through to AVA. I just thought id ask if theres any obvious plugs/hoses I could have missed that could cause this before I take the long trip back through.

not sure what the TPS was off mate, not necessarily a S1, when I took it to AVA they got it on the rollers and done a few tests (swapped fuel computer etc) and all was fine. They then checked my mates TPS and swapped it, and it ran fine. It wasnt faulty its just cause it was the wrong part, the one that was on it was arse for elbow - when the car was on full throttle this TPS was telling the ECU it was closed thus cutting out. it ran fine until then.
nah mate clutch never really slipped, just driving along motorway and it crunched then the rest was history, couldnt even start it in gear to get me off the motorway! had to pay £200 :-(

You may well have had a TPS off a vauxhall then, they also have Bosch groupsets, but the work in reverse. They look the same to the un-trained eye though.
I just see now you have solced the problem, i was going to say if your clutch was slipping then the car wouldnt of been presenting as much load as it will with a new clutch, and could make it boost that little bit harder to hit the limiter....................
but you've fixed it, so i'll shut up now
