How long do i need to have left on my passport to fly to the states?

6 months.

But you need a new style passport that has a chip or something in it. Mother and Father had to get new ones a couple of months ago, and their passports had 6 years left on them

looked into that, dont need a Biometric Passport until 26th oct and i will be back by then can still go on the older machine readable ones
