Default Insurance

I'm looking to buy a Fiesta XR2i, preferably zetec if insurance will allow...

I'm 20 with 2yrs no claims (will be 3yrs come Feb all being well), clean license etc. Best quote I've had so far is £850 with Quinn direct. Could do with knowing who's best to try though

Just wondering what you XR2i owners are paying if you don't mind me asking? Please include age/circumstances etc and who you're insured with

Thanks, Chris

Flux want 795 but that's with a much higher excess than Quinn, so for the sake of £50 it's still them for now...

Thanks for the post though, keep 'em comin

Avoid Elephant and Admiral as well as they're complete cunts

Greenlight who advertise on here are worth a shout. We insured our 2i for £500 Fully comp with all mods declared but I was 26. My bro insured his FRST at 19 for sensible money so keep shopping and play the companies off against each other. Got my FRST insurance down to £409 this year

Good stuff, the effort paid off there then

I'm pretty sure Greenlight are 21 and over but I only turned 20 a few weeks ago Will look into it though

If you could find out who your bro was with on the RST and let me know, I would be eternally grateful

Thanks for the post

Thanks for the replies people, been a big help

I am currently with Tescos but they seem reluctant to quote me on anything remotely tasty til I'm at least 21. Seems to be a common theme really

That sounds spot on Was going to try Herts the other day but their homepage wouldn't load. Will have to source their number by some other means I think...

Meant to say try HIC. They sorted my Escort out all mods declared up to 330bhp and an agreed value of £6k for £500

Gah. Quick call to HIC just now. They're asking more like £1250 on an Escort RST and that's with 2yrs NCB. What to do what to do...?

Ask about putting the car on a classic policy. If they can do it for you (they did on mine) it's a great way to drop the premium. Be warned though you don't acrue no claims on a classic policy
