can you run anti lag with a dump valve fitted
talking of dump valves, i have a bailey, and a mate has a bailey, they look the same from the outside ,but mine has a rod through the middle that you can see from underneath, but his doesnt . whats the difference?
would it not be pointless though, because when you are off throttle e.g braking for a corner and the anti lag is keeping the boost up for when you re-apply the throttle, the dump valve would be getting rid of the boost created from the anti lag running
just a quick thought, probably completely wrong
but would like to know
cheers

my thought on the subject is that a dump valve has a spring in it that keeps it closed. the spring force has to be overcome by a difference in pressure for the dump valve to open. that normally happens when you still have boost pressure one side of a closed throttle, and vacuum the other side of it.
with ALS activated, you don't have that pressure difference due to the bigger bypass valve, so the dump valve will probably stay shut (depending on the spring force).
am i right?

Nick,
Yep, that's my understanding. Dual piston ones seem to have a better set up for keeping the piston closed.
